Merz confirmed whether the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine is possible.
The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, confirmed the possibility of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine. He stated this during a broadcast on ZDF, noting that this is indeed real.
“Of course, it is entirely possible,” the Chancellor confirmed, without specifying details.
Merz noted that the use of these missiles requires extensive preparation. He emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers need to undergo a months-long training course before receiving such weapons.
The Chancellor expressed confidence that supplying missiles in the short term would not be effective due to the need for military personnel training. It was also confirmed that Germany is already cooperating with other European partners who have provided similar weapons to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military may receive Taurus missiles, which became known after the statement by the Chancellor of Germany. However, for effective use of this weapon, the military personnel must undergo a prolonged training course. The German side also emphasized cooperation with other European partners regarding the supply of arms to Ukraine.
