The NABU explained why it does not publish new audio recordings in the Midas case.
According to ТСН: The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is currently not publishing new audio recordings in the "Midas" case because they are still being checked.
At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Anti-Corruption Policy Committee, NABU director Semen Kryvonos commented on this situation. He dismissed rumors that his subordinates stopped publishing the "Mindich tapes" allegedly due to the geopolitical situation.
Statements by the NABU director
Kryvonos noted that NABU only publishes those recordings that confirm already documented episodes of criminal activity.
"We did not shoot a series. We only publish the part of the information that confirms already recorded, documented episodes of criminal activity,"- said the NABU director.
He also assured that there is "no pressure or hindrances" regarding the publication of new recordings, emphasizing the unchanged independence of NABU. Although Kryvonos acknowledged that there is pressure on NABU, he stressed that such pressure is "usual" and does not affect the course of the investigation.
Searches of businessman Mindich
Recall that on November 10, NABU employees conducted searches of businessman Timur Mindich, the former Minister of Energy, as well as the current Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko and at the company "Energoatom." It later became known that Mindich left Ukraine a few hours before this.
The border guards confirmed that Mindich was allowed to leave the country on legal grounds as he has three minor children.
In addition, it was reported that in the so-called "back office" of businessman Timur Mindich, 527 certificates with closed personal data about NABU detectives, journalists, politicians, officials, and law enforcement officers were found.
The situation surrounding the "Midas" case demonstrates how important it is to adhere to transparency and independence in anti-corruption investigations. The publication of new recordings can significantly affect public trust in NABU and anti-corruption processes in Ukraine. The investigation into Mindich and other figures continues to attract public attention as the results of the investigation can be decisive for the further development of events.
