The Ministry of Digital Transformation launched e-residency for citizens of Slovenia, India, Pakistan, and Thailand. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov at the IT Arena technology conference.

«To become an e-resident, you just need to fill out an application in the app or on the uResidency portal – it takes 5–10 minutes. It will be quickly verified, and the resident will receive a qualified electronic signature in the consulate, without any visit to Ukraine. Then they open a sole proprietorship online – and all subsequent interactions will occur automatically», – explained Fedorov.

According to him, reporting is fully automated: the bank will calculate taxes itself, submit the declaration, and «take on all the bureaucratic hassle». That is, everything happens automatically without human intervention. Also, no expenses for an accountant or lawyer are needed because the system performs all their work, and the resident just engages in their own business, informed the Minister of Digital Transformation.

«Now the program is available to citizens of India, Pakistan, Thailand, and Slovenia. In the first stage, we plan to recruit about 1,000 e-residents. More countries will follow», – emphasized Mykhailo Fedorov.

The minister noted that e-residency is an important and revolutionary project for the economy, as it provides constant additional income to the budget. For example, in Estonia, e-residency has been working for 10 years and annually brings in millions in taxes. The first e-residents have already opened bank accounts and were very satisfied with the result, added Fedorov.

Recall that in two years, since «Diia» launched documents for foreigners, the latter have formed over 20 thousand residence permits. Among the documents that foreigners have formed in «Diia»: over 18.3 thousand permanent residence permits; more than 2.8 thousand temporary residence permits.

By the way, on September 9, the Ministry of Digital Transformation launched the online marriage service in «Diia». Now you can get married in a few clicks. Fedorov noted that thanks to online marriage, military personnel and couples who are far from each other can get married despite the circumstances, the distance between cities, or even countries.

Also, three new documents have appeared in «Diia». The Ministry of Digital Transformation added certificates of marriage, divorce, and name change.
