The Ministry of Defense named its key task for 2025.
In 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to create means that will be able to accurately hit enemy targets at long distances. This was reported by the press service of the defense department.
Destruction of logistics chains and military facilities deep within Russia, elimination of enemy troop and equipment concentrations become possible thanks to missiles, loitering munitions, and deep strike. In addition, an effective missile defense system is being created to protect Ukrainian cities from enemy shelling.
The Ministry of Defense also noted that investments in defense last year have already yielded results: the serial production of cruise missiles has expanded and new ballistic and cruise missiles with a greater range have been tested. Work continues on anti-aircraft missile systems produced jointly by foreign and Ukrainian enterprises.
Main directions for the development of military technology in 2025
- Creation of ballistic and cruise missiles that can deter Russia;
- Development of components for the missile defense system that will ensure effective protection of cities from enemy attacks;
- Creation of a domestic missile defense complex with characteristics that meet the best Western analogs;
- Development of control systems for anti-aircraft missile systems.
Currently, the Ministry of Defense is negotiating with partners to acquire foreign-made systems and is jointly developing modern Ukrainian missile defense systems with Western companies.
Earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the launch of the 'Drone Line' project, which aims to strengthen the country’s Defense Forces.
Additionally, soon in Ukraine, there will be an opportunity to shoot down Russian strike drones using laser technologies that will be produced in our country.
