Ministry of Defense launches military escort service.

The Ministry of Defense received permission to launch the military escort service
The Ministry of Defense has received permission to launch the military escort service. The order to launch the military escort service and their families No. 59 dated January 29, 2025, has passed legal examination and was registered by the Ministry of Justice. This was reported by the press service of the defense ministry.
According to the regulation, escort services will operate within the structure of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the State Special Transport Service. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the functions of these services will be performed by civil-military cooperation units. They will provide military personnel and their families with consultations and assistance on legal, social, and medical issues.
The launch of escort services involves the creation of a support system that will provide military personnel and their relatives with comprehensive assistance – from legal consultations to organizing medical rehabilitation.
This was explained by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk, who stated that the support system will assist in any situation – drafting applications, resolving payment issues, consulting on rehabilitation opportunities after injuries, providing legal advice, and psychological assistance.
As part of the preparations for the launch of escort services, training for the first groups of specialists has been conducted. They have acquired the necessary skills in providing legal and psychological assistance, organizing medical escort for the wounded, social support for military personnel and their families, as well as interaction with the families of the deceased, missing, and prisoners of war. The training was conducted in collaboration with volunteer organizations and civilian experts.
Overall, the escort services will cover about two dozen support areas, which will enhance the social protection of military personnel and their families.
As reported, the Ministry of Defense completed the first stage of creating social escort services for military personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The units, which are more commonly known as patronage services, will work to support military personnel and their families who need legal, psychological, medical, and other assistance.
For reference, within three days from the start of the 'Contract 18-24' program, nearly 300 applications were received for the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.
