Financial Aid for Impacted Households
According to Novyny.live: Households in Ukraine's Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions that have suffered war-related damage can now apply for international financial assistance of up to $1,000. The application window for this aid will remain open until February 28, 2026. It is anticipated that approximately one thousand households will receive these grants, which are designed to provide crucial support during a difficult period. This initiative is part of broader international efforts to help stabilize Ukraine's agricultural sector and rural communities.
Program Conditions and Amounts
The program stipulates minimum grant amounts for households engaged in specific types of farming:
- Rabbit farming – $667;
- Goat farming – $667;
- Beekeeping – $667;
- Poultry farming – $690;
- Pork production – $713.
The maximum amount of financial support for meat or dairy production reaches $966.
Separately, citizens have until February 25 to apply for monetary assistance from the Norwegian Refugee Council. Furthermore, UNHCR Ukraine will provide financial aid of 10,800 hryvnias to residents of a frontline community in the Sumy region. Registration for an aid project from the charitable organization 'Caritas-Spes' opened in February, with aid under this project amounting to 33,600 hryvnias.
This international aid, alongside other available programs, aims to alleviate the financial burden on households facing hardship due to the war. Applications for this specific assistance can be submitted over the next three years, allowing a greater number of people to access the resources needed to rebuild their livelihoods. In the context of the ongoing conflict's severe impact on the economy, such funding represents a vital step toward agricultural recovery in the affected regions.
