In mid-July this year, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the possibility of multiple citizenship in Ukraine. According to the new law, Ukraine will conclude agreements with countries where the largest number of Ukrainians reside, as well as with partner countries.

Zelensky's Statement on Multiple Citizenship

During the Ukrainian youth forum 'Youth Here', the leader of the country stated that priority in implementing this law will be given to those countries where the largest number of Ukrainians live, as well as partner countries. The government is currently forming a list of such countries.

'The states where many Ukrainians live. The priority is very simple. These are our partners, countries that help us, that support us during the war. States that have accepted a large number of Ukrainians, those who have supported them back in their homeland, and those countries that have supported Ukrainians here during the war. There will be a list — the government is forming the list.'

It was previously announced that the first countries to join the implementation of this law will be Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic countries. Let us remind you that on June 18, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law on the introduction of the institution of multiple citizenship.
