Ukrainian legislation allows for the mobilization of men up to 60 years old, but the conditions for calling up those who have crossed the 50-year mark have their own peculiarities. Mobilization of individuals over 50 does not foresee their assignment to assault brigades unless they express a desire to do so beforehand.

Usually, these conscripts remain in service in the rear, where their military specialty is taken into account. In the Ground Forces, not only the health of the mobilized is considered, but also their combat experience, education, and professional skills. They are often assigned to positions as communication operators, drivers, electricians, financiers, or in the construction of defensive structures.

It should be noted that violations of military registration may incur fines according to Ukrainian legislation.
