Successful Beginning and Future Plans

In March, we reported that the travel company organized a six-day tour priced at £699, which included £50 for drink expenses at the pubs.

The tour organizer Matt Croker from Crossways Travel noted that the trip went smoothly and was a real success.

“We are pleased to report that the trip went without a hitch and was a great success,” he noted.

Croker emphasized that they are considering conducting similar tours in the future and may cover other regions of the country.

“My plan is to repeat a similar tour but cover other parts of Great Britain,” he added.

He also mentioned that the interest is shown not only by the participants of the tour but also by other pub visitors, as a large group of tourists always draws attention.

Project 'Journey to History'

Tourists on the first tour were informed:

“JD Wetherspoons – Where history comes alive.”

The journey included visits to colorful pubs, such as Standing Order in Derby, Chief Justice and Common Pleas in Keswick, as well as Dog Beck in Penrith. Among others - The North Western in Liverpool, Winter Gardens in Harrogate and Velvet Coaster in Blackpool.

The tour offered five nights in a hotel in Leeds with daily excursions to selected pubs.

“Today we will head to Blackpool and our next historic pub ‘Velvet Coaster’,” was the message received by the trip participants.

One of the participants shared their impressions on social media:

“Sounds great, looks cool.”

This successful start of the tour demonstrates the growing interest in events that combine entertainment and history, attracting the attention of not only tourists but also locals. In the future, we can expect an expansion in the number of such journeys that will open new horizons for pub culture enthusiasts.
