Iranian Report Claiming Ukrainian Deaths in Dubai Warehouse Strike Denied by Kyiv.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Responds to Alleged Attack on Air Defense Depot
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected claims spread by Iranian media that a warehouse in Dubai, supposedly storing Ukrainian anti-drone systems, was destroyed. Reports from Iran's Fars news agency alleged that 21 Ukrainians died in the incident. Kyiv has labeled these statements as disinformation.
Georgiy Tykhyi, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, issued an official denial:
“This is a lie. We officially refute this information.”With this, Ukraine dismissed all accusations from Iranian media about Ukrainian military involvement in events in Dubai.
High-Level Diplomatic Meeting
This controversy comes shortly after a significant diplomatic event. On March 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the leader of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting highlighted growing security and defense cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE. However, the unsubstantiated report of Ukrainian casualties and a destroyed warehouse underscores the need for rigorous fact-checking in today's information warfare environment.
The incident and Ukraine's swift response illustrate how disinformation can strain international relations, particularly amid the conflict in Ukraine. False reports like these threaten the security partnership between Ukraine and the UAE, emphasizing the critical importance of monitoring the information space.
