Herrera emphasized that it will be especially hot in the region between Slovenia, Croatia, Czechia, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland, where temperatures could reach +34...38°C.
According to a study published in the journal Lancet Public Health, heat-related mortality in Europe could triple by the end of the century due to global warming. Italy, Greece, and Spain will be the hardest hit. The number of heat deaths is predicted to rise disproportionately.
