Cardiologist and Poet Volodymyr Volikov Killed at the Front.

Ukrainian poet, combat medic, and cardiologist Volodymyr Volikov has been killed at the front. This was reported by his comrade Oleksiy Sahalovskyi.

“With great sorrow, I must inform that yesterday the heart of my friend and comrade, co-author of songs and well-known combat medic Volodymyr Volikov, stopped beating. I want to express my sincere condolences to his family and friends. There were so many plans, how could it be, Volikov…” - wrote Sahalovskyi.

Another comrade of Volodymyr reported that the poet was killed by a gunshot wound.

“Sad news, my comrade, military volunteer, medic, just a wonderful person Volodymyr Volikov has been killed by a bullet. Rest in peace in the meadows of Svarozhyi” - wrote Viktor Zaychuk.

Volodymyr Volikov served in Eastern Ukraine under the call sign Skif.

In 2024, he published a book titled “Poetry Burned by War,” in which he conveyed his emotions and thoughts during the conflict.

“The war has left its mark on all of us. And we have all become different. And my poems have become different. Yes, they contain love, passion, and faith that light will overcome darkness, but these poems unite one common pain we share: WAR. This book is autobiographical. I tried to convey in it what I went through myself and to ignite in each heart a spark of hope and faith that the darkest times always come before dawn, and our world will be saved not by beauty. No. Our world will be saved by love” - says the annotation to the book.

Earlier at the front, volleyball player Andriy Romanov from Kropyvnytskyi was killed.

Recently, actor Oleksiy Samoylenko, who is described as a sincere and decent person, was also killed.

“I still can’t grasp this. We saw each other just a few days ago when Lyosha was in Kyiv for the weekend. I want to remember him as alive and light as he was that day. Lyosha never spoke unnecessarily and never complained. There was such sincerity and dignity in him that I always felt a little ashamed of myself next to him” - shared Kateryna Hryhorenko.
