Police Officer Killed During Check in Izmail: Attacker Arrested.

On August 5, a deadly shootout occurred in the outskirts of Izmail during a police check of a moped. The moped driver attempted to avoid communication with law enforcement, grabbed a weapon, and opened fire on them.

One of the police officers received serious injuries as a result of the shooting. His colleague managed to arrest the attacker by using his service weapon. Both were hospitalized, but one of the law enforcement officers died from severe injuries.

The police arrested the attacker, who faces life imprisonment for assaulting a law enforcement officer. This is yet another case of an attack on law enforcement in the country, following a similar incident in Kharkiv and another in the Odessa region.
