Restrictions for vehicles are being introduced at the border with Romania: details and alternative routes.
According to ТСН: From December 2, 2025, temporary restrictions on motor vehicle traffic will be in effect at the "Solotvyno - Sighetu Marmației" border crossing. On working days, from Monday to Friday, the processing of vehicles will be suspended from 09:00 to 16:00. However, pedestrians will be able to cross the border without restrictions.
The restrictions have been introduced due to the reconstruction of the bridge over the Tisza River, which is an important element of the transportation infrastructure. According to preliminary estimates, the work will take approximately 22 days until the repair is completed.
Recommendations for drivers
The relevant services have urged drivers to take the new conditions into account when planning their trips. If possible, it is recommended to use other border crossings to avoid queues and delays.
The restrictions only apply to vehicle processing and freight transport. Passenger buses and private cars will also be subject to these restrictions during the specified hours.
The "Solotvyno - Sighetu Marmației" border crossing is one of the key transport corridors between Ukraine and Romania. The temporary security measures aim to ensure the uninterrupted execution of repair work and traffic stability after their completion.
It was previously reported that operations at the "Orlivka" ferry crossing in the Odesa region were suspended due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
The repair of the bridge is crucial for transportation safety and improving communication between Ukraine and Romania. Drivers should plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconveniences during the current restrictions.Read also
