Additional funds will be allocated for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the amount has been named.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine intends to allocate 1.1 billion hryvnias for the purchase of drones for military brigades, said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a Cabinet meeting on December 13.
According to the head of the government, these funds will be directed specifically to the brigades to meet their priority needs. In December, the Ministry of Defense will transfer 4.3 billion hryvnias to military units.
During this period, 27.2 billion hryvnias have been allocated for the financing of brigades, of which 8.8 billion was spent on purchasing drones, 3.9 billion on weapons and equipment, 2.1 billion on vehicles, and 1.5 billion on electronic warfare means.
In 10 months of 2024, 229 billion hryvnias were spent on military equipment, weapons, ammunition, and other defense provisions. A total of 226 billion hryvnias was allocated for the purchase of goods for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For example, in 2025, the direct financing of brigades will remain at the current level. It is planned to increase the production of drones to 1.5 million units this year. For the purchase of drones, 100 billion hryvnias have been allocated in the state budget for next year.
