Barhilievich: in the first days of the war we held back the enemy at the border
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoliy Barhilievich stated that in the first days of the war he participated in a shooting battle in defense of Kyiv. An enemy column was heading towards the bridge, the defense of which he had to prepare. The first enemy attack was repelled, but there were not enough defenders for prolonged resistance. Barhilievich requested reinforcements, and two hours later his request was fulfilled. Cadets from the military institute and fighters from the 72nd mechanized brigade also joined the defense. All of them managed to hold back the enemy at this important border.
