Ukraine Needs 6 Billion Dollars for Drones by the End of the Year: What Was Discussed with NATO.
According to inkorr.com: The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov met with NATO's Senior Representative in Ukraine Patrick Turner.
The head of the Ministry of Defense expressed gratitude to the countries and leadership of the Alliance for their solidarity and support, in particular for launching the PURL mechanism together with the USA. According to him, this initiative has already proven its effectiveness: allies have provided funding for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine amounting to 2 billion dollars.
'We discussed long-term support for Ukraine within the PURL framework. Involving new participants and increasing contributions is critically important for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to receive American weapons,' said the Minister of Defense.
The parties also addressed other ways to meet Ukraine's priority defense needs.
'By the end of the year, our country needs about 6 billion dollars for key types of drone weapons: FPV drones, interceptor drones, long-range UAVs, and missiles. I emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian manufacturers within the Build in Ukraine and Build with Ukraine programs. We have strong industrial cooperation with NATO countries and significant prospects for its development,' noted Oleksii Reznikov.
Effective Security Guarantees and Cooperation with NATO
Moreover, the participants of the meeting discussed the creation of effective security guarantees with the involvement of the Coalition of Willing and considered the steps necessary to ensure lasting peace and prevent repeated aggressions from Russia.
This meeting was part of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and NATO and coordinating international military assistance.
Oleksii Reznikov emphasized the importance of defense sector support and the need for significant investments to ensure the country's security, focusing on the development of drone technologies and cooperation with NATO countries.
The meeting of Oleksii Reznikov with the NATO representative indicates unwavering support for Ukraine from the Alliance in the context of military aggression. Discussion of funding and the development of defense technologies is crucial for enhancing the capabilities of the Ukrainian military.
