Scientists presented a new Mars rover robot.
Successful testing of the Fetch Rover
Scientists from Europe and the company Airbus successfully conducted testing of the Fetch Rover, which in the future will be used in a NASA and European Space Agency mission on Mars. During the tests in a specially prepared area, the robot simulated work on the surface of the Red Planet.
The main purpose of the Fetch Rover is to collect Martian soil left by the Perseverance rover and send it to Earth. The rover has a high level of autonomy and the ability to overcome difficult terrain conditions of Mars, including rocky surfaces and steep slopes. During the testing, the robot demonstrated its ability to navigate in an unfamiliar environment and perform precise maneuvers.
