Ukrainians Unfit for Service May Face Wanted Status Due to 'Reserve+' App.
Military Registration in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: While citizens deemed unfit for military duty can be removed from the registry, some have recently been reinstated automatically—often after installing the 'Reserve+' application. Under Ukrainian law, all male citizens aged 17 to 60 are required to maintain military registration. Certain women, particularly those with medical training, may also be listed.
It is important to distinguish between permanent removal from the registry and temporary delisting. Those who were removed under Order No. 342 must be re-registered by Territorial Centers for Recruitment (TCCs). Since the Ministry of Defense's Order No. 342, issued in 2006, is no longer in effect, anyone previously delisted under it must now be returned to the register.
Current Registration Challenges
According to Vladyslav Deriy, the vast majority of men have already been automatically added to the military registry. He warns that individuals who obtain an electronic military registration document are highly likely to be listed—and could subsequently be placed on a wanted list.
Citizens who have been removed from the registry retain the right to challenge TCC decisions. This provides a legal avenue for those who believe their rights have been violated to defend their interests. Military registration remains a pressing issue, and legislative changes can affect the status of many individuals.
The situation surrounding military registration in Ukraine continues to draw significant attention, especially amid the ongoing conflict and mobilization efforts. The growing automation of processes, such as the introduction of the 'Reserve+' app, has the potential to reshape how military resources are tracked and managed. It is essential for citizens to understand their rights and the options available to appeal decisions, particularly when their status changes without their consent.
