Poland is building the largest airport in Europe: what is known about the масштабний проект.
New megaterminal in Poland
According to The Sun: Europe is preparing for the opening of a new megaterminal capable of competing with the largest airports in the world. The Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) plans to start its operations in Poland by 2032, after years of preparation.

Budget and capacity of the new airport
The project will cost approximately £25 billion, and the area of the new airport will reach 450,000 square meters. This structure will replace the current Warsaw Chopin Airport, which has an area of only 165,000 square meters.
At the start of operations, the airport will have two runways, with a third planned by 2045. It is expected that in the first year, CPK will serve about 34 million passengers, and then this number will grow to 60 million.
Construction will begin next year under the supervision of the architectural firm Foster + Partners, also known for the 'Gherkin' project in London, in collaboration with Buro Happold.
“We believe that CPK [the airport] will completely change the way people travel across Poland and will become new gateways to Europe and the rest of the world,” said Grant Brooker, head of the Foster + Partners studio.
Airport transportation infrastructure
The airport will also have an underground rail network that will connect it with Warsaw and Lodz, as well as a bus station. Passengers from Warsaw will be able to reach the airport in just 20 minutes by train.
Deputy CEO Dariusz Kuc noted that this will be “a multifunctional transport hub that will connect not only cities in Poland but also neighboring countries in Eastern Europe.”
“CPK is located in a region of Europe where an airport of this scale has been needed for many years,” he added.
However, not everyone supports the new airport project. Ryanair has recently announced significant investments in Warsaw-Modlin Airport, which will ensure a significant increase in passenger traffic.

CEO Ryanair Michael O'Leary has already criticized CPK's plans, stating: “This airport is unnecessary. It is planned in the wrong place and at the wrong time.”
Against the backdrop of the active development of new megaterminals around the world, CPK is not the only project. King Salman Airport in Saudi Arabia will become the largest in the world in 2030, expecting to serve up to 185 million passengers.

Dubai is also building a new Al Maktoum International Airport, which will replace the existing Dubai International.
Therefore, the launch of the new CPK megaterminal promises to significantly change air connectivity in Poland, providing new opportunities for travelers. Despite the challenges, the project has already sparked active discussions among airlines and may become an important step in the development of the region's transport infrastructure. Life around the Warsaw airport, as well as in other significant airports, may significantly change in the coming years.
