In the village of Kryva Balka, the ecological inspection found a large illegal landfill covering an area of 1 hectare. Inspectors accused the Uspenivka village council and the local utility company of its creation.
Soil analysis showed a significant excess of harmful substances, indicating that the site has suffered severe pollution. According to preliminary estimates, the damage to the environment amounted to over 30 million UAH.
What punishment is threatened
Inspectors are preparing to hand over the materials to the police on the signs of an offense under Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (pollution or deterioration of land). The offenders face a fine of up to 68 thousand UAH and a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years.
