Massive Russian Attack on Ukraine
According to UATV: On the night of June 21, Russian occupation forces launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine using both missiles and drones. The attack included two 'Iskander-M'/S-400 ballistic missiles, two 'Kinzhal' aeroballistic missiles, and 105 strike drones.
The missiles were fired from Russia's Voronezh and Ryazan regions. The drones were launched from multiple directions, including from:
- Orel
- Kursk
- Bryansk
- Millerovo
- Primorsk-Akhtarsk
- occupied Crimea
By 9:00 AM, Ukrainian forces had reported shooting down 96 of the enemy drones.
Ukraine's Response
The Russian assault resulted in missile and drone impacts at six locations, with debris falling at five of those sites. In response, Ukraine's defense forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire teams.
This attack is among the largest in recent weeks, highlighting the ongoing escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The use of varied missile and drone types demonstrates Russia's adaptation of tactics to maximize impact. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in neutralizing the vast majority of drones underscores the country's defensive readiness and capability.
