Russian Military Attack on Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: In the night leading up to April 1, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine, targeting civilian infrastructure across multiple regions. The affected areas included:
- Lutsk
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Zhytomyr
- Poltava
- Odesa
- Kharkiv
- Khmelnytskyi
These strikes resulted in the complete destruction of a Nova Poshta terminal and food storage facilities, as well as damage to a residential building.
Statement from Ukraine’s President
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the situation, stating: 'In Lutsk, firefighters are currently working to extinguish a blaze following an overnight attack by Russian Shahed drones. The strikes hit purely civilian sites: the Russians destroyed food warehouses and a Nova Poshta terminal. A residential building was also damaged. All necessary units from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and municipal services have been deployed to manage the aftermath of this assault.'
This attack on non-military targets underscores Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine, raising alarm within the international community. The destruction of food supply infrastructure poses serious risks to local food security by disrupting logistics chains. Ukrainian authorities and emergency responders are actively working to mitigate the damage, highlighting the critical need for crisis readiness amid the ongoing conflict.
