According to TSN.ua: In a move to counter offensive capabilities from Russia and China, Germany and Australia are partnering to build a global sensor network designed to protect satellites from jamming and destruction. The announcement came during a joint press conference featuring German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, where key initiatives were unveiled. This collaboration highlights a growing focus on space as a critical domain for national security.

Germany has committed over €35 billion to space systems, signaling a serious intent to bolster its capabilities beyond Earth. Both nations recognize that modern challenges demand innovative security approaches, particularly in the space arena.

“We are already cooperating in space. Both countries need to strengthen military capabilities not only on land, at sea, and in the air, but also in space,” stated Boris Pistorius.

Additionally, Australia and Germany have agreed to pursue a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), aimed at simplifying the mutual deployment of troops. Richard Marles emphasized:

“Today we announce our intention to conclude a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), which will facilitate the reciprocal stationing of forces.”
