Underground Fortifications of Russian Forces in Kherson Region

According to UATV: According to Vladyslav Voloshyn, the underground positions built by Russian troops in the Kherson region resemble the tunnel systems used by Hamas in Gaza. Reports indicate that Russian forces have excavated tunnels stretching 30 to 40 kilometers on the left bank of the Kherson region. These subterranean passages were originally a gas pipeline constructed back in the 1970s.

Voloshyn also revealed that a replica of this pipeline was built at a training center in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region to prepare assault teams. The mock-up replicated the features of the actual pipeline, allowing soldiers to practice movement and operations within it.

Frontline Situation

Over the past 24 hours, the frontline saw 237 combat engagements, highlighting an escalation in hostilities in the area. These developments underscore the challenging frontline conditions and demonstrate how Russian occupiers are leveraging underground structures for military operations.

The situation in the Kherson region remains tense, particularly as Russian forces intensify combat operations and use underground networks to gain tactical advantages. These tunnels could significantly alter battle tactics, giving occupiers better maneuverability and concealment. This, in turn, may complicate Ukrainian forces' efforts to detect and neutralize them.
