Russia launched a wave of disinformation before the prisoner exchange: what Yusov said
On Thursday, August 14, another prisoner exchange took place between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Andriy Yusov, spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, spoke about Russia's manipulations that occur before each prisoner exchange.
Andriy Yusov said this in a comment to journalist Halyna Ostapovets from Novyny.LIVE.
The representative of Ukrainian intelligence Andriy Yusov noted that before each exchange, Russia launches a wave of disinformation and psychological pressure. According to him, before today's exchange on August 14, the same happened from the enemy's side.
'Before each exchange, we practically face a wave of disinformation, psychological pressure, and the activation of hostile intelligence services. This exchange was no exception. High-ranking officials of the aggressor state allow themselves to utter outright nonsense that does not correspond to reality.', Yusov said. He also noted that sometimes the disinformation and fakes spread by the Russian Federation before exchanges can be useful for Ukraine.
'However, it sometimes (the disinformation from the Russian Federation, - Ed.) helps and can be useful because when certain photos and videos are publicized, it also provides additional information for us.'
What can be confidently stated is that Ukraine is ready to return all Ukrainian citizens. Please pass them on - we are waiting. We will return everyone, and we are fighting for everyone.', Yusov summarized. It should be noted that on August 14, another prisoner exchange took place. Another 84 citizens of Ukraine returned from Russian captivity. Later, the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War revealed the details of today's exchange.
