Shelling in Ukraine's Kherson Region on March 6, 2023
According to UATV: On March 6, 2023, Russian military forces continued their shelling of settlements in the Kherson region, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to four others. Among the victims was an 81-year-old resident of the village of Inhulets, who was killed in the attack. The injured also included medical personnel. The Kherson region, partially occupied by Russia, has been a focal point of intense fighting since Ukraine's liberation of its main city in late 2022.
Areas targeted included the village of Komyshany, where a local woman was wounded in a drone strike. Two of the injured were medical workers from a Kherson city hospital. Separately, around 1:00 PM, a Russian drone struck Kherson's Central District, destroying four vehicles.
Regional Situation
Later, at approximately 4:30 PM, Russian occupying forces carried out a drone attack on the village of Zelenivka, wounding an 80-year-old local woman. The day's shelling caused damage to:
- private houses and apartment buildings
- a hospital building
- automobiles
In total, on March 6, 2023, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory using 141 strike drones. This relentless assault underscores the severe and ongoing dangers faced by civilians and aid workers in southern Ukraine. The increasing attacks on civilian infrastructure and medical staff highlight the critical threats to local residents and those providing essential aid, demanding continued attention from the international community and humanitarian organizations.
