According to Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, two people were injured in the assault: a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old woman.
The attack also damaged the water pipeline network in the city of Chornomorsk, leading to a temporary halt in water deliveries to residents. Kiper stated:
'Based on preliminary information, two individuals have been hurt: a 17-year-old male and a 23-year-old female.' – Oleg Kiper
Emergency crews are currently assessing the extent of the damage and estimating how long it will take to restore water service, the Odesa regional administration reported.
Ongoing Threat to Civilians in the Region
This incident highlights the persistent danger faced by non-combatants in the area, as civilian sites continue to be hit by hostilities. Local authorities are evaluating the aftermath and working to repair damaged infrastructure.
The situation in Odesa Oblast reflects the broader realities of the war in Ukraine, where ordinary people frequently find themselves in harm's way due to military operations. The strike on Chornomorsk shows that even as peace efforts continue, the region remains vulnerable to the consequences of aggression. Officials and emergency services are focused on restoring utilities and providing aid to those affected.
