Odesa Port Installed New Shelter: How They Protect People During Attacks from the Russian Federation

A new shelter has been installed at the entrance to Odesa port. This security measure is necessary to save people's lives due to constant attacks on the facility by Russia.

New Shelter

The Odesa branch of the State Enterprise 'Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine' has installed a modular shelter for the port's guests. It is located near the central checkpoint, close to the Pass Office.

It is worth noting that 10 such shelters had already been installed inside the port for the safety of workers earlier. The presence of such structures allows people to hide more quickly during an attack.

Attacks on Odesa Port

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has carried out dozens of missile and drone attacks on Odesa port.

The last one occurred on July 3, 2025. As a result of the missile strike, 2 people were killed: a truck driver and a dockworker-mechanic. Six others were injured, two of whom were Syrian citizens, members of the crew of a civilian vessel. The shelling also damaged infrastructure facilities: portal cranes, equipment, and warehouses.

We remind you that recently we reported that the port in Mykolaiv region will be handed over for concession. And also about the repair of the pier in Odesa region.

A new shelter has been installed at Odesa port to ensure the safety of guests during attacks, which have become a threat due to the full-scale invasion of Russia. Dozens of missile and drone attacks have prompted the need for protective measures.
