How Much Time is Needed for De-mining of Kharkiv Region
Today, only about 1% of the mined areas in the Kharkiv region have been cleared. Special technologies are used for this.
This was reported by the director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration
Ivan Sokolin a comment for Novyny.LIVE.
According to him, it will take up to 100 years to completely clear the region of mines, provided that 1200 sapper teams work daily and 50 units of special equipment are involved.
However, despite the significant challenge, there is good news as well. Thanks to the gradual advancement of technologies and the emergence of new Ukrainian solutions in the field of mine action, the de-mining process may significantly accelerate after the end of hostilities.
Experts believe this gives hope for a quick clearance of the areas from mines at a much faster pace than currently.
Completely clearing the Kharkiv region of mines will require significantly less time than before, thanks to the development of modern technologies and Ukrainian solutions in the field of mine action.Read also
