Electricity Supply Situation in Odesa

According to Novyny.live: Starting March 23, 2023, residents of Odesa will face sudden electricity blackouts without prior warning. This measure, along with stabilization schedules in parts of the region, is being implemented due to severe disruptions in the local energy system. The city and surrounding areas are grappling with a power crisis that affects daily life and business operations.

A total of 34 major substations in the Odesa region have been damaged or destroyed, creating significant obstacles to maintaining a stable electricity supply for households and enterprises. As a result, locals should expect frequent power interruptions that will impact their routines.

Electricity Tariffs and Utility Costs

In April 2023, the electricity tariff will be set at 4.32 UAH per kWh. For households using dual-zone meters, the nighttime rate will drop to 2.16 UAH per kWh. For businesses, the base electricity cost in April will be 686.23 UAH per MWh (excluding VAT), while a reduced rate of 359.55 UAH per MWh applies to companies in the green electrometallurgy sector.

Beyond electricity, utility prices remain a key concern for residents. Water tariffs for households will stay at 14.93 UAH per cubic meter (excluding VAT), with wastewater services costing 14.37 UAH per cubic meter (excluding VAT). In Odesa, residential gas users will pay 7.96 UAH per cubic meter in April, plus a delivery fee of 1.308 UAH per cubic meter. For businesses, gas transportation costs will amount to 501.97 UAH per thousand cubic meters.

The challenging electricity supply situation in Odesa demands that residents stay vigilant and adapt to shifts in energy consumption patterns.

Amid the instability in the Odesa region's energy grid, both residents and businesses face new hurdles that require adjustments in how they use electricity. Local authorities and energy companies are working on fresh strategies to improve conditions, as a reliable power supply is crucial for everyday life and commercial activities. The newly introduced tariffs for electricity and utilities also reflect current economic realities that affect every consumer in the area.
