Odesa's Housing Modernization Initiative
According to Novyny.live: A new housing modernization program has been launched in Odesa and the Odesa district, specifically designed to assist internally displaced persons (IDPs) and improve living conditions for the most vulnerable families. Known as 'Housing for Vulnerable Households in Ukraine V', this initiative aims to support 40 households. This effort is part of a broader national response to the housing crisis caused by the ongoing war.
Program Eligibility Requirements
IDPs who have relocated to Odesa or the Odesa district from active combat zones or temporarily occupied territories are eligible to apply. The program targets several vulnerable categories, including:
- People with disabilities;
- Single individuals aged 60 and over;
- Single parents;
- Large families;
- Families with adopted children;
- Pregnant women or mothers with children under three years old.
An additional key criterion is a per capita average monthly income of less than 8,422 Ukrainian hryvnias. Priority for housing repairs will be given to displaced families with the most urgent need. For consultation on participation, individuals can call 050-710-03-27 from Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Registration for the program is also available via an online form.
The launch of this housing program represents a critical step in supporting IDPs who face difficult living circumstances due to the conflict. By focusing on improving housing for the most at-risk populations, the initiative highlights the social responsibility of the state and implementing organizations. Providing repair assistance can significantly enhance the quality of life for displaced families and aid their adaptation to new environments.
