One of the largest cities in Poland plans to introduce a tourist tax.
Krakow asks the government to allow charging a tourist fee
The city of Krakow officially appealed to the government of Poland with a request to allow the introduction of a tourist fee. Currently, such a tax is prohibited by law. In 2023, Krakow was visited by over 7 million tourists, but the city cannot charge a tourist fee due to legal restrictions. The City Council of Krakow unanimously supported a resolution urging the government to allow municipalities to introduce this tax. The fee should not exceed 3.22 zlotys per night. Their goal is to improve comfort for residents and guests of the city.
