Officer Lost Military Property Worth Almost 1.5 Million UAH - Verdict.
The senior officer lost military property valued at over one million 423 thousand hryvnias and was brought to criminal responsibility. The verdict on this was issued by the Novozavodsky District Court of Chernihiv on July 23.
According to court materials, the senior officer was provided with various military equipment for official use, which he did not track or store from November 2023 to October 2020. Part of this equipment was transferred to other military personnel without proper accounting.
Court Decision
At the court hearing, the senior officer admitted his guilt, he has already compensated part of the damages and asked for leniency. The court decided to sentence him to two years of imprisonment but substituted it with service restrictions. Additionally, the officer must compensate the damages and give 10% of his salary to the state. The verdict can be appealed within 30 days.
Also, in Volyn, the law enforcement officer helped a conscript escape to Moldova, for which he faces probation and confiscation of property. Additionally, an entrepreneur from Ivano-Frankivsk was fined for selling humanitarian vehicles intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the court proceedings, the senior officer was found guilty of losing military property and held accountable. The verdict included imprisonment, but this punishment was replaced with service restrictions. Moreover, he will have to compensate for the damages incurred and give part of his salary to the state.
