U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire on an armed man near the White House in Washington on the night of March 9. This was reported by U.S. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
An unknown individual was waving a weapon when approached by law enforcement. The man was shot and taken to the hospital. The reasons for his actions are being investigated.
Secret Service representatives stated that they received information from local police about a 'suicidal person' who may have arrived in Washington from Indiana.
Earlier, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance reported that protesters chanting 'Glory to Ukraine' frightened his three-year-old daughter.
Additionally, Vance urged American citizens of Ukrainian descent to view the U.S. as their country and to be defenders of American interests.
Moreover, earlier, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that Ukraine's existence depends on American support, and it was unwise for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to express insults toward Donald Trump.
