«Today, December 26, the enemy is conducting a massive shelling of the border areas of Sumy region, using various types of weapons, including KABs and drones. The sounds of explosions from these shelling can be heard, including in Sumy», it is stated in the announcement.

Representatives of the OVA state that an air alert is ongoing in the region and in the regional center, and residents are urged to stay in shelters.

Attempt to break through the border

Enemy propaganda is trying to claim that there was a «breakthrough across the border in Sumy region and the capture of a border village». However, in reality, this was an attempt by a reconnaissance and sabotage group to penetrate Ukrainian territory, which was stopped by operators of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 10. This was reported on the official channel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The surviving enemy soldiers were forced to flee to Russian territory, but they were liquidated by the SSO operators. This entire process can be seen in the video record.

Disinformation about crossing the border

Additionally, reports that Russian troops managed to penetrate Ukrainian territory towards the village of Oleksandriya in Sumy region are not true. This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration. A spokesman for the State Border Guard Service also stated that the area where the occupiers allegedly entered is swampy and very difficult to access even for Ukrainian defenders.
