First Lady Olena Zelenska has stated that Moscow refuses to share information about the abducted minors, forcing Kyiv to depend on its global partners to make progress. According to her, Ukrainian authorities are exploring every avenue to pressure Russia and obtain details about the children, but direct communication has proven impossible.

An international coalition dedicated to the children's return has been formed, now comprising over 40 countries and organizations. It is estimated that as many as 700,000 Ukrainian children may currently be on Russian territory. Officially, 19,546 minors have been identified as victims of unlawful removal, underscoring the scale of the crisis. On March 27, the matter was discussed in the U.S. Congress, highlighting growing international concern.

Zelenska warned that at the current pace, it could take decades for Ukraine to recover all its children—time these young lives cannot afford to lose.
