Orban predicts the start of war in Europe as early as 2026.
According to ТСН: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban believes that a war in Europe could begin as early as 2026. He expressed this opinion during an interview with the Hungarian publication Magyar Nemzet.
«This cannot be ruled out,» Orban replied when asked if 2025 could be the last year of peace in Europe.
Orban noted that since the end of World War II in 1945, nuclear weapons have kept the nations of Europe from war. Now a «completely new world» is forming. According to him, there is a redistribution of financial, military, and political power, which could lead to conflicts. He believes that military tension in Europe is a consequence of the decline of Western Europe and the European Union.
«Today in Europe there are again two camps: the war party and the peace party. Currently, the pro-war forces have the advantage. Brussels wants war, Hungary wants peace,» he stated.
Orban also emphasized that the fall of Ukraine would be a disaster for Hungary and that stability in Ukraine is of great importance for his country, as Hungary supplies Ukraine with electricity and gas.
In addition, the Prime Minister criticized the decisions of EU leaders regarding financing Ukraine and questioned the facts of Russian aggression, stating that he «does not quite understand who attacked whom». He believes that Western countries are mistaken in thinking that «this war can be fought without spending a dime».
The thoughts expressed by Orban reflect concerns about future conflicts in Europe and the role that states may play in this situation. His comments emphasize the importance of stability in Ukraine for regional security and Hungary's economic relations with neighboring countries.
