Introducing the 'LightHOME' Program from Oschadbank

According to Novyny.live: Oschadbank has unveiled a new initiative called 'LightHOME,' designed to provide financial assistance for apartment buildings seeking to establish independent power sources. This program offers crucial support for multi-unit residential buildings to acquire generators and other equipment for self-sufficient electricity generation.

Program Eligibility and Details

The following entities are eligible to apply for the program:

  • Associations of Co-Owners of Apartment Buildings (OSBB),
  • Housing and service cooperatives,
  • Building management companies for multi-story residences.

The amount of financial aid available depends on the building's height, with grants ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 Ukrainian hryvnias. Specifically:

  • Buildings up to six stories tall can receive 100,000 hryvnias,
  • Structures between seven and sixteen floors are eligible for 200,000 hryvnias,
  • Buildings with 17 or more stories, or those that contain boiler rooms, can qualify for the maximum grant of 300,000 hryvnias.

Funds from the 'LightHOME' program can be used to purchase generators, batteries, inverters, and solar panels. To participate, applicants must open a dedicated account with Oschadbank and submit their application through the government's 'Diia' portal. A key requirement is that the granted funds must be utilized within 45 days of receipt. This initiative is part of a broader national effort to enhance energy resilience for communities. The program aims to improve living conditions and safety for residents by helping buildings secure a backup power supply, a vital consideration given the ongoing challenges to Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
