A man armed in Cherkasy barricaded himself in McDonald's: a special operation is ongoing.
In Cherkasy, on August 7, a shooting occurred at the fast-food establishment McDonald's when an armed man opened fire. The police launched a special operation on Smiilyanska Street and urged citizens to avoid the area of the incident.
The press service of the Cherkasy police and eyewitnesses reported the event.
Currently, police officers, special forces, and medics are working at the scene. All visitors and staff of the establishment have been evacuated. According to preliminary information, the man who opened fire may be injured, but there is no official information about his condition yet. Also, one of the establishment's workers may be interrogated, as eyewitnesses said he let the armed man into the restroom.
Recently, several similar incidents have occurred in Ukraine, including a shooting in Kharkiv and an attack on employees of TCK in Mykolaiv region.
The events that took place in one of the chain fast-food establishments in Cherkasy prompted a large-scale police operation. Law enforcement continues to investigate the incident, working at the scene and reaching out to witnesses for additional information.Read also
