Pope Francis Appears in the Hospital
Today, March 23, Pope Francis appeared in a wheelchair on the hospital balcony. His appearance was welcomed with applause by three thousand believers who were in the hospital courtyard.
'Thank you all!' - said Pope Francis, addressing an elderly woman with a bouquet of yellow flowers. He then made a blessing.
In his speech, Pope Francis shared his thoughts on God's patience and called for prayers for peace in countries suffering from wars.
'Thank you for your prayers for me. I also pray for you. Let us pray together for an end to wars and for peace, particularly in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and the DRC,' - urged Pope Francis, concluding his speech at the Sunday prayer 'Angelus.' He also wished that the Blessed Virgin Mary may protect them on their journey to Easter.
Pope Francis will be discharged from the hospital today, March 23. Cardinal Fernandez stated that the physical condition of the pontiff will not change after the illness and treatment, although he will have to relearn to speak due to oxygen therapy.
In a single audio recording released by the Vatican, it is evident that the Pope struggles to speak, his words are indistinct due to a lack of air.
