The chief forensic expert Andressa Bor Fronza noted: “The cause of both deaths was external poisoning, which contributed to heat stroke with severe dehydration, thermal collapse, leading to organ failure and death.”

Police chief Felipe Siman Gomes added: “These circumstances, along with the substances found in their bodies, led the police to conclude that the cause of death was sudden and not caused by third parties.”

Friends described the couple, who had been together for almost 20 years, as friendly and caring parents. The police noted that there were no reports of violence.

Ana Carolina's family denied claims that she was a regular drug user and expressed concerns that she may have been coerced into taking cocaine. The police chief added: “It is possible that the physical constitution of both of them was not compatible with the use of such substances, especially in combination with alcohol.”
