According to The Sun: Catastrophic news for travelers: PLAY Airlines has announced the immediate cessation of operations and canceled all flights.
Now passengers from all over the world are trying to find new options for vacation or returning home.
Flights were immediately halted in KeflavikKeflavík AirportPrior to this announcement, the airline was operating flights to European cities such as London, Amsterdam, Paris, Alicante, and Faro.
On September 29, PLAY announced the suspension of all flights, prompting many passengers to share their experiences on social media.
“A very unpleasant situation! PLAY Airlines has declared bankruptcy and canceled all its flights while we were sitting in Dublin airport's terminal, waiting for a flight to Iceland!”
Several passengers noted that they found themselves in a difficult situation and are looking for new return options, as many flights are already booked or turned out to be too expensive.
Some couples who were in Keflavik tried to find alternatives to continue their journey, but most flights were already full.
A woman who had just arrived in Prague expressed her concern:
“I am a bit panicking”.

On its website, PLAY Airlines stated:
“Fly PLAY hf. has ceased its operations, and all flights are canceled… We recommend contacting other airlines.”
The airline also provided passengers with recommendations for obtaining refunds, including advice for those who purchased tickets with a card.

However, representatives of Icelandair noted that currently, special fares for PLAY passengers are not available as the company is expanding its routes.
The airline also canceled flights that were scheduled to start this week from Liverpool to Reykjavik and had previously operated flights between London and Reykjavik.
