The Cabinet approved the indexing of pensions: what will change for millions of Ukrainians.
The Cabinet approved the draft law on pension indexing
According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a draft law providing for annual pension increases through the indexing mechanism. This was reported by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.
The document specifies the unification of the procedure for increasing pensions for all categories of pensioners. This will help avoid situations where the size of the pension changes depending on fluctuations in salaries and other income.
The document also provides for the improvement of the pension recalculation system to make it clearer and more effective for servicemen who are currently on duty and participating in military actions, as well as for those who plan to complete their service in the future.
Furthermore, the new draft law regulates the minimum pension amount considering debts due to court decisions, notarial executory writings, and other official documents. According to the new rules, the final pension amount after deductions cannot be less than the established subsistence minimum for persons who lost their ability to work.
Thus, the approved draft law guarantees regular pension increases for all pensioners in Ukraine and ensures transparency and unification in the process of determining the amount of payments.
This step by the government will undoubtedly provide support to millions of Ukrainian pensioners who need stable income in difficult times. The unification and transparency of the pension increase processes can also improve trust in the social security system in Ukraine.
