J.D. Vance: The US should increase pensions for Americans, not assist Ukraine.
The US Position on Aid to Ukraine
According to ТСН: US Vice President J.D. Vance expressed that the United States should focus more on pension payments to elderly Americans rather than providing financial assistance to Ukraine.
In his speech in Phoenix, Arizona, which was broadcast by the White House, he emphasized:
“We are helping elderly Americans with their pensions by eliminating taxes on social security payments. We believe it is important to honor our fathers and mothers, rather than sending all their money to Ukraine.”
Vance added that American taxpayers' money should stay in the country and
“work for the well-being of its citizens”, rather than being spent abroad.
Former US President Donald Trump has also referred to the situation in Ukraine as a “mess” and stated that he will no longer fund support for Kyiv.
These statements reflect the growing concern among parts of American society regarding spending on foreign aid amidst domestic issues. Interest in US policy towards Ukraine remains high, as it affects not only geopolitical circumstances but also internal economic decisions. Observers believe that such statements may influence future decisions regarding funding for Ukraine by Congress.
