Pension Increases in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian citizens receiving pensions and social benefits can expect a significant boost to their finances. Starting March 1, 2026, all pensions paid through the Pension Fund will rise by 12.1%. This increase comes after a period of hardship, as payments were suspended for over 300,000 Ukrainians, creating serious challenges for many families. This reform is part of broader efforts to stabilize the social safety net.

Identification Procedure Required

To restore these payments, approximately one million people are expected to complete an identification process in 2025. The deadline for submitting the required declarations for those who have not yet done so has been extended to April 1, 2026. This extension provides citizens with a crucial window to finalize the necessary paperwork and avoid further delays in receiving their pensions.

According to Denis Ulyutin, internally displaced persons who have their pensions reinstated will also receive all funds owed to them for the entire suspension period.

“Since the indexation amount is paid together with the pension, after the payment is restored, an internally displaced person will receive all funds due for the entire suspension period, including accrued indexation amounts.” – Denis Ulyutin

Therefore, Ukrainian pensioners and vulnerable groups can anticipate improved financial support starting next year. It is vital, however, that all eligible individuals complete the identification requirements on time to secure their entitled payments. This pension increase and the resumption of social benefits have the potential to substantially improve the financial situation of many families who endured difficulties due to the payment suspensions.
