Negotiations with the Russian Federation - the start time of the meeting in Istanbul has been announced.
On Wednesday, July 23, the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine regarding the end of the war in Ukraine will take place in Istanbul. The meeting is scheduled for the evening hours, and the delegations will gather at the Ciragan Palace.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a comment from the communications directorate of the Turkish president's administration.
Negotiations with Russia
'It is expected that the meeting will begin around 7 PM in the Besiktas area, at the Ciragan Palace,'- it is stated in the message.
At the same time, it was noted that the meeting agenda might change.
Results of previous rounds of negotiations
During previous negotiations, the Ukrainian and Russian sides agreed on the exchange of captured soldiers and the bodies of fallen warriors.
Ukraine insists on the return of occupied territories and the provision of security guarantees, while Russia demands the recognition of annexed territories, Ukraine's neutrality, and limitations on NATO's support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky defined the composition of the delegation for negotiations with the Russian Federation in Istanbul. The Ukrainian leader also identified key topics to be discussed with the Russian side.
It was reported about the planned next round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. Previous meetings led to the agreement on the exchange of captives and the bodies of the deceased, however, the issue of occupied territories remains contentious, as the parties have different demands and conditions.
