Partisans Atesh warn: peace agreement will not stop resistance in occupation

According to ТСН: Ceasefire will not bring peace, but will mark the beginning of a new phase of hidden war waged by Ukrainian partisans in occupied territories. This is stated by journalists who spoke with representatives of the Ukrainian underground.

"Invisible Enemy" in the Rear

Journalists described the story of one agent who observed Russian patrols in occupied Donetsk for several weeks to set up homemade explosives on the railway tracks used by the enemy to transport weapons.

"Makeevka is my city. I know who walks where, where the lights don't work, where dogs bark for no reason, and I don't stand out," the agent told journalists.

This deep knowledge of the local area makes ordinary civilians important assets, which perhaps Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin does not expect if Ukraine has to concede its territories in the framework of a peace agreement.

Network Atesh is Growing

The partisan movement "Atesh," which translates from Crimean Tatar as "fire," began its activities in the summer of 2022 and has significantly expanded. According to independent observers, by 2025, "Atesh" accounted for more than half of all registered sabotage in the occupied territories.

Partisans have shifted their focus from minor sabotage to serious targets: communication towers, EW stations, military trains, and oil depots. These actions continue despite the tightening of counter-sabotage measures by Russia, where suspects face up to 20 years in prison.

Agents Among Russians

One of the important areas of work for "Atesh" is the recruitment of Russian military personnel.

"They are not just contractors, but people of all ranks, including veterans who want to stop Putin's war," noted a movement representative.

Journalists also spoke with a Russian soldier who became a double agent. He emphasized that his most important mission became assisting Ukrainian forces in advancing five kilometers forward.

When asked whether he would continue to work for the resistance after signing a peace agreement, he replied: "Of course, since peace in Ukraine will be temporary."

Peace Agreement Will Not Stop Resistance

Underground representatives emphasize that any "ceasefire" on paper will not mean the end of the struggle for those who remain in occupation.

"A ceasefire will only give us time to prepare better, to involve those who hesitated before, and to create real hell for the occupiers at every stairwell and at every checkpoint," said an agent working in Kherson region.

Partisans also warn the Kremlin about a "fatal mistake" if they believe that occupied lands will simply pass to Russia after signing the agreement.

"We will become an invisible army... We are not waiting for peace - we are preparing for liberation," summarized a resistance movement participant.

It is also reported that between 15,000 and 30,000 Western peacekeepers may arrive in Ukraine, with the main forces provided by France and the United Kingdom, while Turkey will ensure security in the Black Sea.

These events indicate the continuation of the struggle of Ukrainian partisans who are not going to stop before any compromises that may threaten their territorial integrity. The serious intentions of the Kremlin and support from the West may significantly influence the further development of the situation in the region, which could become a subject of international negotiations in the near future.
