Re-registration of subsidies from May 1, 2025: who needs to contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Starting from May 1, 2025, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will begin re-registration of housing subsidies for a new period. Some citizens must contact the Pension Fund offices to continue receiving payments. Most recipients will automatically re-register their subsidy, but there are four categories of citizens who must submit a new application to avoid losing their right to state assistance.
The following groups of citizens are required to submit their applications in person:
- Households with internally displaced persons;
- Individuals living in rented housing;
- Citizens where the number of actual residents is less than those registered;
- Applicants for housing subsidy for liquefied gas, solid and liquid household fuels.
Subsidy recipients must inform the Pension Fund about any changes in their household and property status of family members concerning changes in employment, the number of residents, and other significant changes.
How to submit documents for re-registration:
- Visit the Pension Fund of Ukraine office in person;
- Send the documents by mail;
- Use the electronic cabinet on the PFU website;
- Contact an authorized person from the local council executive body;
- Use the 'Diiia' portal.
Residents of rural areas are advised to contact the village head to obtain the necessary documents to avoid traveling to the administrative center.
Experts note that during the summer period, subsidies may be zero, which is normal and indicates automatic extension of support for the heating season. However, the absence of any accruals may indicate the need to re-register the subsidy.
The Pension Fund emphasizes that timely re-registration of subsidies before May is necessary to avoid problems with receiving state assistance and long queues to obtain it. Timely re-registration of the subsidy will help avoid issues with receiving state support in the future and not wait long in queues, which usually arise before the start of the heating season.
The process of re-registering housing subsidies is an important step in ensuring state support for certain categories of citizens in the future. Notifying the Pension Fund of any changes in the household composition or property status is mandatory to avoid problems with receiving the subsidy. It is necessary to adhere to the deadlines for submitting the required documents to avoid delays in payments.
