First online marriages in „Diya“: Fedorov reveals details.
In the „Diya“ app, the first couples have already gotten married. As of now, over five thousand lovers have signed up for the beta testing of this feature. Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov reported this.
„Marriage via video call is literally and without exaggeration a revolution in the field of public services, and this weekend three couples got married in „Diya“. Beta testing is always exciting and responsible, so the „Diya“ team spent the weekend in the digital registry office“, - he said.
The Minister reported that the first lovers to get married were activist, military man, Member of Parliament Roman Lozinsky and specialist in social and behavioral communications, lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University Svitlana Kisilova.
„The couple was together during the registration, because besides loving each other, they have a passion for innovation. Therefore, they were the first to marry in „Diya“, as real early adopters. At first, we thought the key audience for the service would be long-distance couples, but Roman and Svitlana came up with another use for the service - combining an online ceremony and an offline wedding. Take note“, - Fedorov noted.
The Minister explained that in total, 2.5 thousand couples have already signed up for the beta test, and noted that the service will soon be available to everyone.
„Ukraine is the first country in the world where you won't need to go to the registry office to say „Yes“ to your beloved. The first country in the world that allows even long-distance couples to get married. Regardless of whether the distance is measured in cities or continents“, - he emphasized.
Let us recall that at the end of May it became known that adult Ukrainians can participate in the beta test of marriage via video call in „Diya“.
By the way, the government of Ukraine has significantly sped up the marriage registration process for Ukrainians: now instead of lengthy filling out of paper applications and visits to the registry office, Ukrainians can submit the corresponding application through „Diya“.
As reported, soon the online marriage service will be launched in Ukraine using video in the mobile application „Diya“.
